So.. way back in cold, bleak February, I spent a few days in the Ladbroke kitchen waffling on about my favourite cookery tips and tricks in front of a camera. The result? Some pretty slick demo videos of Searing steak, rolling chocolate truffles and knife handling techniques courtesy of Grokker.com
This will be a bit of a dream come true as more videos roll out. As most of you know, a few years ago, I walked off the plank of corporate architecture and free-fell hoping to land somewhere in food and travel. After cobbling together some food writing gigs and supper clubs, I landed squarely doing what I love to do; teac… In this case, teaching world cuisine and Kitchen Confidence cookery classes in London. To have my teaching broadcast to a global audience via Grokker is about all I could ask for… So yeah, I feel very, very lucky.
Grokker is a premium video network that is free to subscribe to. Once you’re registered, you can choose from about a zillion demo videos, from cooking to fitness to watch at your own pace. I liken it to a Food Network that you can control and choose from…
Grokker have been massive supporters of my Food Pilgrimage mission of traveling to learn about food culture from the locals and bring the techniques back to you.
The Chef’s Way channel will be full of short, to-the-point videos demonstrating helpful tricks and tips learned from my travels. I hope that these little tid-bits of culinary knowledge will give you confidence in the kitchen and inspire you to experiment, or at least to plan your own Food Pilgrimage (Burrata and Basil in Puglia, Italy anyone?)
My first three videos: “Panzanella Salad”, “Pan Frying the Ultimate Crouton” and “Brilliant Balsamic Glaze” are live and ready for you to watch… So get on with it.
*Note… you will have to register for Grokker to watch the complete videos, but it’s easy and free and If you like cooking, you’ll probably like Grokker.
Thanks to all of you for following along on this adventure. More travels and more recipes are on the way, so STAY TUNED!
And of course… Let me know what you think! (But be gentle)
Eat well! Feed those around you!
